ABOUT US
Y2Y New Haven (NHV) started because young adults in New Haven saw a critical need for safe, affirming, and youth-specific services, launching what has become a city-wide movement. Since 2018 with our New Haven-based youth organization partner, Y2Y NHV worked in collaboration with students, youth experiencing homelessness, dedicated service providers, and community members to operate a safe, affirming youth-specific overnight program. Unfortunately, in late 2025 our partner organization ceased their operations, and Greater New Haven lost the only youth-specific overnight shelter in the region. This allowed an opportunity for Y2Y Network to shift the focus of Y2Y NHV - expanding our peer-to-peer model to create new, vital pathways to supportive services for youth experiencing homelessness. Y2Y NHV is filling a critical need in the community, allowing us to get within reach of ending youth homelessness in New Haven.

Growing up is hard enough, and I’ve always been passionate about addressing youth homelessness because no young person should have to face the added burden of housing insecurity during such a critical time in their life. I am touched by the youth-to-youth mission of Y2Y, and particularly love getting to connect as peers and helping to provide a safe shelter environment specifically dedicated to young adults.
