We opened Y2Y Harvard Square in December 2015, because we believe that all young people should have a safe place to sleep and the resources they need to succeed. Our founding team met while volunteering at Phillip Brooks House Association’s Harvard Square Homeless Shelter (HSHS), where during their service, they saw more and more young people come through their doors. Over the course of several years, we learned that young adults needed a youth-driven space because they didn’t feel safe staying in adult shelters. However, the youth-run HSHS was consistently regarded as a safe space for young people. Given that there were only 12 beds specifically for young adults in Greater Boston, it was critical to work to meet this need. In deep partnership with PBHA, we convened a broad, diverse group of stakeholders and worked together to open student-run Y2Y Harvard Square.
Anne mcginG Healy
Director of Finance and Accounting
Anne graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in Accounting and went on to Boston University, where she earned an MBA with a concentration in nonprofit and public management. After a a start in public accounting at Deloitte & Touche, and a long tenure in the finance at Boston University, Anne transitioned to smaller nonprofits. In recent years, Anne has led the finance office at social justice focused organizations including Rosie’s Place, Match Education and the Melville Charitable Trust.
Jorge Santana graduated from Boston University Questrom School of Business in 2015 with a concentration in Organizational Behavior. While at BU, Jorge served as a camp director for the Mission Hill Summer Program and an officer at the Phillips Brooks House Association, a student-led non-profit at Harvard College, as the programming group officer for the 12 summer urban programs serving over 800 youth in the Greater Boston Area. After graduating, he worked as an Operations Coordinator for a Success Academy Charter School in Brooklyn, NY and then moved to San Jose, CA to work at a Rocketship Public School as a founding Operations Coordinator.
Kylie nassif Blizzard
Kylie graduated from the University of Richmond in 2015 with a degree in International Studies: Middle East. At UR, she served as VP of WILL*, a four-year academic and leadership program from women, non-binary and trans students. Kylie worked in the Boston College Law Career Services Office on data analysis, event planning and pro bono programming for three years prior to joining Y2Y in October 2018. An advocate for intersectional approaches to social justice, she believes data plays an integral role in addressing social issues.

Dennise Gonzalez graduated from the University of Florida in 2008 with a degree in English, and went on to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she earned her Master’s degree in Film and Television. After working in the film industry in Atlanta, GA for several years, she moved to Boston, MA and to join an early-stage startup specializing in pet services before taking a role at HubSpot in Cambridge, MA.

Joanna is a junior at Harvard College studying evolutionary biology and music. Her passion for serving disadvantaged members of the community led her to join the Y2Y family as a volunteer in 2016. Joanna is now a student Advocacy Director and works with our guests to find their voice and advocate for themselves, both in Y2Y and the Cambridge and broader Boston community. Along with her co-director, Joanna runs the weekly SPPC meeting, where guests get involved in our policy making processes. She also leads legislative outings to the State House with guests, and plans Speaker’s Bureau opportunities for guests to share their stories and experiences with the community. Joanna is interested in restorative justice and community building and strives to integrate restorative practices into Y2Y as a student staff and Board member.
Senior Fellow, Harvard 2016 Advanced Leadership Initiative
Bob is a Senior Fellow in Harvard’s 2016 Advanced Leadership Initiative working on projects addressing homelessness and diabetes. He is a member of the Y2Y Harvard Square Advisory Board and a member of the Senior Common Room of Adams House. From August 2013 to January 2015, Bob was Senior Counsel to US Senator Carl Levin and from December 2010 to August 2013, Bob was Senior Adviser for Economic and Financial Policy to US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Bob was an attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from November 1973 to his retirement in June 2010. He became a partner in June 1980 in the banking group and during his career, he worked on a broad range of international and domestic banking, securities and structured finance transactions and sovereign debt restructurings. He graduated Harvard Law School in 1973 and Yale University in 1970 and received a commission in the US Army Reserve from Yale’s ROTC program in 1970.
Independent ConsultantJamila Bradley an advocate, consultant, and writer. They are fiercely motivated to critically engage with and magnify lived experience to create social change. Jamila is a graduate and facilitator of MHSA’s Leadership Development, co-facilitates Boston’s Youth Action Board and is a co-author of the MA State Plan to End Youth Homelessness, in addition to working as an independent consultant on race, equity, and inclusion. Integrating policy analysis with insights from their lived experience, Jamila strives to analyze and find solutions to systemic issues impacting marginalized communities and vulnerable populations.
Chief Operating Officer, Big Sister Association of Greater Boston
Sue has over 25 years’ experience as a regional and national executive, successfully building and leading cross-functional, inclusive, high performing teams. Sue began her career with audience development work for Shear Madness/Cranberry Productions, one of the nation’s longest-running theatrical productions. She moved into the nonprofit sector with her role as the Director of Registration and Student Services at the Boston Center for Adult Education and eventually as its first Director of Development. She then became Director of Posse Boston at The Posse Foundation, an acclaimed national college access, and diversity program. After transforming the Boston site to a revenue self-sustaining and programmatically successful one, Sue rose to Regional Vice President, implementing the strategic plan and ensuring the overall health of the organization while overseeing numerous chapters. During her subsequent tenure as a member of the executive team at Health Leads, a social enterprise, she led in several areas including national program and revenue and helped to position the organization to capitalize on market changes through significantly increased programmatic efficiency and productivity. Later, at Peace First, Sue served as a Senior Advisor to the executive team in a variety of functional and strategic areas. Sue currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.
Manager, Portfolio Accounting & Pricing, The Baupost GroupIn 2015, Skyler met Sarah and Sam and was amazed by their exuberance and relentless dedication to solving youth homelessness. He is a proud supporter of Y2Y since its inception and is extremely grateful for the privilege to work alongside Y2Y’s volunteers, staff, and other board members. Skyler earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences. After his undergraduate studies, Skyler worked at Citigroup as a fund accountant, while studying for a Masters degree in management from Harvard University Extension School. For nearly the past decade, Skyler has worked for The Baupost Group, a Boston investment firm, where he is a manager in the Portfolio Accounting and Pricing Team. Additionally, Skyler is the co-chair of The Baupost Foundation Advisory Board, where he helps lead the fight against homelessness and hunger through Baupost’s philanthropic efforts. In his spare time, Skyler enjoys cycling at Boston’s spin studios and traveling with his husband.
Ayala Livny has over 20 years of leadership, management, and direct service experience in homeless services. Since 1995, she has worked with men, families, children, and young adults experiencing homelessness to improve health outcomes and navigate systems. She spent eleven years as the Program Manager at Youth On Fire, a drop-in center for homeless youth and young adults ages 14-24 based in Cambridge, MA. Her focus has been creating safe and welcoming spaces that incorporate harm reduction, HIV-prevention, trauma-informed services, and positive youth development practices. She currently provides training to human services providers on a variety of topics and participates in the Massachusetts Special Commission on Unaccompanied Homeless Youth. She co-facilitates MHSA’s Leadership Development Program for young adults experiencing homelessness and is a founding Advisory Board member of Y2Y Harvard Square. In her free time, Ayala writes, reads, travels, and attempts to raise two children to be forces for good in the world.
Maria Dominguez Gray
Class of 1955 Executive Director, Phillips Brooks House Association, Inc.
Maria has served as the Class of 1955 Executive Director for the Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) since 2012 and has been with the organization for over 18 years. Prior to PBHA, Maria served for five years on the staff of City Year Boston and at Concilio Hispano in Chelsea through the Risk and Prevention program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Maria is a founding member of the South End/ Lower Roxbury Youth Worker Alliance and Mission Hill Youth Collaborative and has advised the Academy, Bromley, Egleston Safety Task Force, Youth Jobs Coalition and Boston Center for Youth and Families. Maria has additionally served on the boards for Cambridge Community Schools, Sociedad Latina, Project HIP-HOP, and the Friends of the Hernandez School. Maria received her B.A. from The College of William and Maria in Virginia and M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education through the Risk and Prevention program. She is a member of the 2010 cohort for Emerging Leaders at the UMass Center for Collaborative Leadership. Maria was born in Boston, grew up in Arlington, VA and currently lives in Roxbury with her husband and 2 children.
Vice President of Programs, The Melville Charitable Trust
Aimee is the Vice President of Programs at the Melville Charitable Trust, the largest foundation in the U.S. solely focused on ending homelessness. In her current role, she provides leadership and oversight for the Melville Trust’s grantmaking and strategic communications. She leads special initiatives related to key aspects of the Trust’s strategic plan, with a focus on preventing and ending homelessness for youth and young adults. She led the development of, and is currently Co-Chair of, A Way Home America, the national initiative that reaches across sectors to build the movement to prevent and end homelessness for young people. She also serves as a board member of Billings Forge Community Works, a nonprofit that focuses on building community and creating economic opportunity in Hartford, Connecticut. Aimee has a Master’s degree in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus on community development. A native Cantabrigian, her grammar school, high school, and college are located within blocks of each other. She currently lives in Boston and likes to cycle, travel, and see live comedy.
